Last week, we made a special trip to the garden beds with the third and fourth grade class to harvest some of the gigantic cabbages and kale leaves that have sprouted up.
Shawn Greenbaum taught the kids how pick the vegetable and we then spent the afternoon cleaning and chopping them at some outdoor picnic tables.
The kale was turned into delicious Lemon-Garlic Kale Chips and we used the shredded cabbage in Turkey Egg Rolls which were featured on the school lunch menu the following day. Enjoy the photos!
